Who We Are

The Waverly Review, founded in 2026, is a horror and gothic literary magazine committed to uplifting the voices of writers between the ages of 14 and 24. We are seeking art and writing focusing on the scary, startling, and grotesque. What keeps you up at night? What lurks around the next corner? What are you most afraid of?

Our Mission

Through our publication, The Waverly Review is committed to creating a safe and encouraging space for young writers to find their niche and explore the bounds of their writing. We believe that literary magazines are at the heart of publishing, and want to create an inviting genre-focused space for creatives to send their work into the world.

Why Choose Waverly?

The Waverly Review is, at its core, a labor of love. The team behind the magazine has first-hand experience working with literary magazines and a genuine love for the genre. It began in 2022 as nothing more than a dream from someone seeking a space to publish the stories we hope to feature, and now, as it has come to fruition, we are committed to putting our readers, writers, and artists first.
